Danone YoPro website

Need for digital presence

Danone is an undisputed market leader when it comes to dairy products. With a presence in more than 130 countries and a volume of nearly 100,000 employees, this group originally founded in Barcelona is well known for being producing, distributing and creating a very important space in the dairy products sector for more than 100 years.

Among the various world-famous products that Danone distributes, one of the most notable is YoPro. This range of dairy products is specifically aimed at sports sector: each unit contains between 15g and 25g of protein, which is considerable for a product of these characteristics.

Naturally, nowadays Danone needs to have a digital presence for its YoPro product range. Through the creation of a web portal, the final customer would have the opportunity to learn more about the product line and get detailed information about it.

Additionally, one of the main advantages of having a digital presence for YoPro is the possibility of having a direct contact with the customer. Whether through contact forms, newsletters or simply data from the customer service team, the creation of this portal opened a new channel of direct communication with the client, which is key in Danone’s relationships.

Considering the very specific audience to which the YoPro products is aimed, the look & feel of the website had to meet very specific characteristics. Thus, Danone’s web design team carried out a specific design for this range of products, involving both designers and UI/UX specialists.

Pixel-Perfect Design

Given the large amount of work invested in the conceptualization of the YoPro design, Danone asked TechsBCN to create a web portal fully respecting the design team’s specifications. This fact was crucial for the development of the project, given that YoPro’s product line follows a very clear visual line and the website had to respect it.

Naturally, Danone also required the most common features of a website of this style. Among others, it was required to have a CMS that would allow modifications to be made to the website easily and quickly, without the need for any development team. Based on the defined requirements, TechsBCN decided to implement a website in WordPress, creating a custom theme that adapted to the provided design.

Given that part of the information on the website (descriptions, nutritional values, etc.) came from an external system, Danone also asked TechsBCN to integrate the website with its ERP. This would provide all the information necessary for the website to stay updated without the need for human intervention.

Taking into account the exposure that Danone has to the public, another important requirement was to verify the security of the site. In addition to ensuring its availability, Danone requested verification of the website’s immunity to the most frequent attacks (DDoS, XSS, SQL Injection, etc.). Following with this requirement, TechsBCN carried out a battery of important tests to guarantee security of the YoPro site.

The result

As Danone requested, TechsBCN successfully implemented the YoPro website in their production environments. Currently, the website has undergone various changes and expansions compared to the original version that we deployed from TechsBCN, but the essence remains the same.

Complying with Danone’s original requirement, the YoPro website met the intended objectives. On the one hand, let the product to have a digital presence and, on the other, facilitate to Danone to have a direct contact with its customer.
